Favors

Posted in Bargain Finds, Favors at 11:26 pm by burleyhsieh

Favors are always fun additions to your decor, but it’s no big deal if you’ve decided to pass on them. But if you decide to get them, remember that most people toss the trinkets out during spring cleaning (So don’t get sad if they get left behind).

With that being said, let me introduce some fun containers/ packages for the favors. www.Papermart.com is my favorite because it has all colors, shapes, material, and sizes for really cheap!

Wedding Websites

Posted in Bargain Finds, Invitations at 8:29 pm by burleyhsieh

Wedding websites are popular these days because they provide a myriad of information for guests (especially if they lose the physical invitation). They usually include a guestbook, bride and groom stories, a picture album, online RSVP, registry information (since it’s bad etiquette to list that on the invitation), a personalized domain, maps and directions, and other extra information. Most of these sites have a basic free package where the options are extremely limited. They’ll initially give you all premium features for a trial period when you sign up for the free package so that when you want to keep your beautiful site later, you’ll have to pay the fee.

Online RSVP’s are great because they save you a return stamp for each of the invitations. With 150 invitations, it’ll save you $61.50.  (Make sure you keep a few paper RSVP’s for the older guests who are not internet-savvy!)

I found this helpful comparative chart from www.weddingwebsites.com below:

My personal favorite is www.tgwedding.com. It used to be completely free, but now it’s a 2-month free trial and $10/year after that.  If you want to get your own domain, it’s only $15 for two years.

Photographer: Tauran Woo

Tauran was my husband’s friend from church (Community Christian Alliance Church), and he did a great job for us! He’s easy to work with and really affordable! Hire him before he gets too famous and starts charging more! (The resolution of the photos on his website are much better. Sorry so grainy!)

Los Angeles is the Easiest place to Plan a Wedding

Posted in Attire, Bargain Finds, Flowers at 12:30 am by burleyhsieh

1. It does not rain for at least 350 days of the year, so weather is not really an issue. Unless you’re stuck in a heat wave, the weather usually cooperates.

flower2.jpeg

2. The Flower District is in downtown. Instead of getting a bouquet for $100, you can make your own for $15.

3. The Fashion district is also downtown, and the best part is that you can bargain! You can easily get bridesmaids dresses for under $50 each. This is also a great place to find flower girl baskets (~$10), ring pillows (~$10), and all the silly stuff that’s usually overpriced.

The two districts are right next to each other, so you can check them out at the same time. www.fashiondistric.org
